Would you like to receive emails from me with news about shop updates and exciting fluffy stuff?
you can also find my fibres on etsy
If you're in the EU or Norway, please visit my spinjones.etsy.com shop where Etsy will collect the VAT on my behalf, until I'm ready to do it here. Please note that I'm currently unable to send to all EU countries.
I do not collect tax. Any customs charges will have to be paid by you once your parcel has reached your country. I am not registered for VOEC in Norway - Head over to my etsy shop where you can pay your fees when you checkout.
(If something of mine isn't available on etsy but it is here, let me know and I can make you a special listing in my etsy shop)
There's something I'd like but it's not available in your etsy shop
You can message me here or message me over on etsy and let me know which items you'd like. I'll then make you a special listing for them. I may have to increase the price as Etsy's fees are higher.
Ordering from the EU?
Please use https://spinjones.etsy.com to buy my fibre. Etsy collects VAT with IOSS. I'm not set up for that as an individual.
I currently can't send to all countries within the EU as the EPR 'take back' scheme is just too costly for me.
I cannot transfer non-handmade items from this shop to Etsy.
What sort of mailers do you use?
All my orders are currently sent in brown Kraft paper mailers - UK and international. I also use cardboard boxes and I may also reuse old boxes for larger orders. Kraft paper mailers are splash proof but they probably won't survive being left out in the rain. From years of sending plastic mailers, I can tell you that not even plastic mailers can keep the water out. If you can, please have a safe place for your parcel to be left - I'd be happy to write a note for the postie on the mailer.
How do you package your fibre?
Most of my fluff is packaged in clear cellulose biodegradable 'Natureflex' bags. My dyed braids are packed in brown paper counter bags or tissue paper.
Natureflex bags are made in the UK from cellophane film that has been accredited biodegradable & compostable to 'BS EN 13432' and 'OK Compost'. They are also approved for Anaerobic digestion (ISO 15985) & Marine biodegradation ASTM D6691-09. The film has also tested to ensure that once composted there are no adverse effects on the plant growth.
Currently, local councils haven't offered us a way to compost these bags with them. If you have your own garden compost please use that for these bags as your council may refuse them. You can also dispose of these bags in your household waste - they will eventually degrade but not as fast as composting them.
Ideally, please use these bags for as long as you can. They do have a tendency to split underneath - a little bit of tape will keep it sealed.
Is your Merino non-mulesed?
YES! and it always has been.
My batts are made from commercially dyed 21-micron Merino sourced from South American flocks.
My 23-micron belnded top is from non-mulesed South African Merino flocks.
My order hasn't arrived and I'm getting worried. What should I do?
Don't worry! Message me here by using the CONTACT button and let me know that your order hasn't arrived. We'll take it from there. Sometimes there are strikes, bad weather, and general mistakes that can really delay a parcel.
You can always message me on Instagram too.
Contact me at whichever place you feel comfortable contacting me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Can I pick up my order from you?
I'm really sorry, but I don't offer local collections. I'm an online business and I no longer work from a workshop that is open to the public.
